Fully open system for custom firmware: This Beta version is bringing you for the first time an open yaffs based system. It means the developers of this community are all welcome and invited to start creating and publishing community based custom firmware you can compile yourself.
It means for you all an fully opened based system to add whatever you want or like with nearly no limitations.

Telnet enabled : This beta we opened the system for easy Telnet. Just Telnet the device with IP and use "root" as username and leave the password blank/empty.
The developers of this community will be able to modify and enhance the system by navigating to :
/usr/local/bin/scripts/menu.rss - premium apps
/usr/local/bin/scripts/settings/img = All GUI
/usr/local/bin/scripts/settings/home.xml is main XML of the system
child menu is in /usr/local/bin/scripts/settings/menu/*.xml

GUI made open: We opened the GUI entirely to be customized by the community. You can now easily make your own GUI skins. Just replace the images in the attached file and copy it back to the correct path when done.
Download this 2 files...extract them and you find all what you need inside.

Android disabled by default: We found out that android if is turned on by default affect substantially the device ability to stream in local network and from the internet. Android services which are resident in the background sometime create a clutter on the device networking buffer. So we disabled it bu default. You can enable it from the settings menu and allow 30 sec for the system of android to jump start itself as many services are loaded in the background .

File size indicator was added to the media library : We found out that a proper media library require some indication of files size. Folder size we decided not to do as well as we did not want the system be occupied all the time with some process which is required to calculate folder inner size.

Airplay for Youtube added : You can now wirelessly stream youtube videos from any IOS enabled device directly to your TV. Goto your iPad/iPhone/iPod and inside youtube application play any file. when the file will start playing you will see a small triangle logo visible . this is the AirPlay logo. Select your prodigy as device and you will see the movie is now start playing on your tv. AirPlay for music is not possible as it is encrypted with a special Key by Apple. They enable it for iTunes only for apple tv and airport extreme router. The community maybe will find a solution that we cannot and are not willing to do .

New platform and Layout for Youtube added : You can now enjoy youtube with a very nice layout in HD quality right from the main screen. look for it in your Apps section.

User based scriptes method added : You can now play any RSS code you write manually from the device. Navigate to Premium Apps and search for the item called "RSS LOAD" on your right . This will trigger RSS script this community can make.
Please note : when we talk about RSS....we actually talk about XML based language. RSS is the name given to this language by people in Taiwan who work for Realtek and it makes some of you confused. This is not the normal RSS as you all know from web. It is a full language based on XML conventional coding. Most of the GUI is build around this language and many of the community projects rely on it heavily.

Internet Radio added : You can now enjoy thousands of live radio channels from shoutcast. navigate to Apps in your home screen and you will see it there waiting for you .

Subtitle Browser added : You can now enjoy several subtitles files per movie without having to rename it with the exact name of the movie in order for it to be visible. You can navigate srt file by pressing the Subtitile button on your remote control

PHP based system added: You can now enjoy full PHP based language for your projects and coding. This will enable you all to use the projects made by the community for our previous models. it might require slight modification but it is opening for you a whole new world of options on top of android and XML/RSS. We will publish here a full list of compiled libraries we have added to the system Kernel . OpenSSl, CURL, JSON amongst many more were done.

SQLite Database added : You can now enjoy the benefits of database based system . This will be found particularly valuable option for coders and will bring much room for future exciting projects.

DVB-T receiver added : You can now enjoy your Xtreamer prodigy to be a DVB receiver . Digital video broadcasting is gaining more popularity all over the world. This Function to be used requires you to buy form us the Dual Tuner .
We optimized the device for many countries pre-sets. Israeli Customers are requested to search for IDAN PLUS signal by searching it on the UK settings.

PVR function added : If you have the tuner you will be able not only to watch live TV on your xtreamer prodigy you will be able to record directly to the device HDD or USB . EPG (Electronic program guide is supported ).
